Over the past five years, employees of the department have published 282 scientific printed works, including 15 textbooks and 1 textbook, 1 monograph, 24 articles in journals recommended by the Committee, 22 articles published in Scopus, 159 reports on scientific and industrial complex, 29 patents.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, the faculty won 1st place in the Start-up project competition with the project “Student Business Incubator of the Faculty of Design, Textile and Clothing Technologies”, 4th year students, HOMI group 17-21 Kumargazin D., and 3 1st year, group HOMI 18-13 Tastankul R. (head: dean of FDTCT, PhD Badanova A.K.), for this project the winnings amounted to 1 million tenge (500,000 tenge, from the rector of ATU and 500,000 tenge from the fund " ATU Endowment"). The entire teaching staff, as well as all students of the faculty, will take part in the start-up project “Student Business Incubator of the Faculty of Design, Textile and Clothing Technologies”. In the start-up project “START-UP atu-2023”, students of the KShI group 19-21 Pasternak D., Rubanenko E. were awarded a certificate worth 600,000 tenge. The topic of the Start-up project is “Creation of a database for an experimental laboratory for production and sales design documentation for garments."
4th year students also took part in the competition: groups TKHI 17-12 Tuzel L. (supervisor Talgatbekova A.Zh.) with a project on the topic “Erler dene bitimderinin erekshelikterin taldau negizinde sportstyk zhiyntygyn zhobalau”, HOMI 17-21 Kungurtseva R. V. (supervisor Zhilisbaeva R.O.) with a project on the topic “Development and research of new structural elements in sportswear for skiers.”
